It was tough but we made it to midnight to see the Disney World Magic Kingdom fireworks from our balcony. All I have to say is Disney sure knows how to put on a show.

While Alicia was in her Big Band practice for the Valentine’s show Tom explored Winter Park. While ducking into a candy shop Tom saw all the different types of soda’s this shop had including a very large selection of Root Beer.

Across from the Starbucks there was a small carousel for kids to ride on in the little area outside City Hall. Next stop was to the gates of Rollins College, the graduation place of Mr. Fred Rogers.

When you have had a rough week nothing is better then being able to do a last minute dinner reservation at Hollywood & Vine in Hollywood Studios. Good food and great company can really cheer up a not so hot week.

The benefit to living so close to Disney is when you need a quick weekend getaway you can do a last minute booking. It only took 17 minutes to get from home to Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. This was just what the doctor ordered. Pool time to relax, stroll time around the resort to see the beautiful scenery and landscape. We finished the night off with a lovely dinner on the top floor of the tower at Toledo Steakhouse.

While enjoying a night out at Epcot we discovered this magical moments photo pass area and had to give it a try. It is nice now being a local that you can stop and smell the roses, or photo shots, because you are not running around the parks anymore trying to fit everything into one vacation.

Tom decided to start a Lego project to double as Physical Therapy for his grip and hand strength. This Diagon Alley project began on January 26 and finished 21 days later on February 16. A job well done if I do say so myself. Okay, yes, Alicia did help some nights as well as figuring out what Tom did wrong when pieces weren’t lining up correctly.

It only took two years but Tom was finally able to ride on (and take a selfie) each of the twelve Disney World Monorails. Much to his surprise, and some Disney magic, Tom was able to sit in the driver’s seat of monorail blue and honk the horn. This was a childhood dream come true.

What better way to enjoy a beautiful day then have lunch in Animal Kingdom with a view of Everest. After lunch we had a nice stroll on the Gorilla Falls trail.
